What is Rain Forest Blue, and how does it work?
Rain Forest Blue is an EPA Registered bacteriacide/algaecide. Rain Forest Blue is safe, effective, kills bacteria, & algae by disrupting the cell structure and chemical makeup of these organisms.
Rain Forest Blue is applied directly into your water. The amount of copper that Rain Forest Blue introduces (0.6-1.0 PPM)
Do I need to use other chemicals?
Rainforest Blue is a primary bacteriacide/algaecide except for an occasional shock it is the only pool or hot tub bacteriacide/algaecide you will need. No other chemicals are needed to control algae.
Can I convert from Baquacil or Soft Swim?
To convert you will need to run your pump and filter for 1 to 3 days and backwash your filter twice a day for up to 4 days to completely remove the residuals left by Baquacil & Soft Swim. How do I start using Rainforest Blue?
Just pour in the correct amount. Run your pump and filter full time for the first couple of days and backwash or clean the filter each day. After that, run your pump and filter as you normally would.
How much do I need for MY Pool?
Using the Rainforest Blue Bacteriacide/Algaecide a 10,000-gallon pool requires an initial treatment of 25 oz of Rainforest Blue (one ounce per 450 gallons). Use a copper test kit (a 10,000 gallon pool requires about 5-8 oz. per week). One gallon treats a average size pool up to six months. Using the EcoOne Conditioner an average size pool requires only 1 - 2 cups or 16 ounces once every 30 days.
